Mwalikwa Sondashi is a PGA Certified Teaching Professional based at Bonanza Golf Course in Lusaka, Zambia. He is passionate about developing golfers of all ages and abilities, with expertise in junior golf development, beginner instruction, intermediate coaching, elite player development, and overall performance improvement.

With more than ten years of coaching experience, Mwalikwa has worked with golfers across a wide range of age groups and skill levels. He is committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment that builds confidence, develops sound fundamentals, and fosters a lifelong passion for the game. His coaching approach combines technical instruction, skill development, and personal growth, enabling players to achieve their goals both on and off the golf course.

Junior development pathway

From first grip to national colours.

Four stages, each with its own skills, competition exposure and graduation criteria. Players progress on readiness, not age alone.
Stage 01

Introduction

Ages 6–9

First contact with the game. Grip, posture, balance and safety through play-based sessions on the range and short-game area.

Stage 02

Foundation

Ages 9–12

Repeatable full-swing mechanics, putting and chipping fundamentals, plus etiquette and the first supervised holes on course.

Stage 03

Development

Ages 12–15

Scoring skills, course management, practice discipline and entry into junior club competitions with handicap tracking.

Stage 04

Performance

Ages 15–18

Tournament preparation, performance psychology, strength and conditioning guidance, and national junior team pathway support.

  • Coached the Zambia National Junior Team to a Bronze Medal at the All-Africa Team Championship.
  • Coached the Zambia National Team to Silver Medal finishes at the Region 5 Team Championship on multiple occasions.
  • Guided numerous junior and amateur golfers to earn national team selection and represent Zambia.
  • Coached several junior and amateur golfers to National Open Championship victories.

Future registration

Academy intakes open ahead of each school term, with holiday camps running in April, August and December. Places are limited so that coach-to-player ratios stay low. Register your interest with Coach Mwalikwa and you will be contacted with dates, fees and squad placement before the intake opens publicly.
