This past Saturday, 21 September, saw the final Trophy event of the year, the 5 Club Trophy – Bonanza’s very first trophy of our 7 trophy events – one of our most unique, fun yet challenging trophy events.
Players choose 5 clubs only, (any 5 of their choice) and play individual stableford. It is a format that forces you to be creative.
A popular event among the ladies, where once again, the trophy event was split into a mens and ladies division.
Results were as follows:
MEN’S DIVISION:
1st | Steve Wells | 37 c/b |
2nd | Mark Gardiner | 37 c/b |
3rd | Nick Dean | 37 c/b |
4th | Derick Zolyomi | 35 c/b |
5th | Leonard Heynes | 35 |
LADIES DIVISION:
1st | Samantha Hance | 31 |
2nd | Claudia Muleiya | 26 |
The mens trophy winner, Steve Wells carried his driver, rescue, 7 iron pitching wedge and putter – a very strategic club decision which saw him make 37 points – certainly proving that club selection creativity and improvisation goes a long way!
In the ladies division, a very proud moment for Bonanza Golf Course, as the ladies who had completed the beginner golf programme, 9ineandwine rose to the challenge and entered into the 5 Club Trophy.
Last years runner up with a mere 18 points showed that consistency and practice go a long way, as this year saw her winning the ladies section with 31 points. Samantha Hance selected her driver, 3 wood, 6 iron, sandwedge and putter.
Subsidiary prizes:
