Bwembya Patrick Chanda showed his class but outlasting the competition at the 2023 Zambia Amateur Closed Championship hosted at Bonanza Golf Course from 17-19 March.
After 2 rounds competition was tight and there were a number of dangerous of players in contention. Leading the pack was Junior, Michael Chuma from Nkana Golf Club who was showing maturity beyond his years.
It was however Chanda who used the experience gained at Bonanza to remain calm and patient, eventually reeling Chuma in and sealing victory with a final round 69 and a tournament total of 7 under par.
The event was registered with the World Amateur Golf Ranking body and points will be awarded this week.
